I've never heard of a 'grateful dead' before. Looking at the ingredients, it has a kissing cousin named Long Island Iced Tea. Trade out the Chambord for Triple Sec and you are almost there. Maybe it's the same drink w/ a different name, depending on where you live.

btw-I never will get why folks use high end spirits for a cocktail. Neat, no chaser please when reaching for the top shelf.

they are actually pretty good. they usually have raspberry liqueur, which adds a nice touch. the LIT is similar ingredient-wise, but tastes quite different. i prefer a LIT but it's always fun to order a grateful dead!

the problem is, they're very easy to drink quickly, and by the time it catches up to you, you're likely to be pretty sloppy. unless you have good self control of course.

Yup

I think I only had two LI Ice Teas in my life - problem (not really) was they were in a row at lunchtime. My buddy and I walked out of the bar and it was waaaaayyyyyy too bright out to be that buzzed.

agreed, The Grateful Dead is a flavorful, if somewhat stealthy Weapon of Brain Cell Destruction. They are way too smooth for he amount of kick they possess.
